Kayak Loading Roller Model D – Heavy-Duty Bearing Roller with Suction Cups
The Kayak Loading Roller Model D is a heavy-duty kayak loading aid built around two key upgrades: a smooth internal bearing system and a durable rubber roller. Unlike basic foam rollers that can wear, compress, or deform with repeated use, the rubber roller is designed for much longer service life, while the internal bearings allow it to rotate freely with very low friction. The roller assembly itself is capable of supporting over 80kg, although for practical vehicle use we recommend keeping the kayak load below 45kg because the vehicle glass or mounting surface may not safely tolerate higher loads.
Mounted temporarily to a suitable rear window or smooth roof surface using suction cups, the Model D provides a rolling support point that makes it easier to slide a kayak onto a roof rack with less lifting and less risk of dragging the kayak against the vehicle.
Specifications
- Roller Type: Heavy-duty rubber roller
- Roller System: Internal bearing-supported design
- Roller Load Capacity: 80kg+
- Recommended Maximum Kayak Weight: 45kg
- Mounting: Dual suction cup system
Key Features
- Bearing-supported roller: Internal bearings allow smooth, low-friction rotation under load.
- Durable rubber construction: More resistant to wear, compression, and deformation than conventional foam rollers.
- Heavy-duty roller assembly: Roller structure is capable of supporting over 100kg.
- Easier kayak loading: Helps guide the kayak onto the roof rack with less lifting and reduced contact with the vehicle.
- Quick temporary installation: No permanent vehicle modification required.
How to Use
- Clean the mounting surface and suction cups before installation.
- Position the roller on a smooth, suitable section of rear glass or roof surface.
- Press and lock both suction cups firmly into place.
- Check that both suction cups are fully secure before placing any load on the roller.
- Place the kayak onto the roller and carefully slide it upward onto the roof rack.
- Remove the roller immediately after loading is complete.
Vehicle Fitment
Rear window curvature varies between vehicles. On some vehicles, the angle of the two side support tubes may need to be adjusted slightly so both suction cups sit flat and make full contact with the glass.
Important Safety Notes
- Recommended kayak weight: 45kg or less. The roller itself can support more, but vehicle glass and mounting surfaces may not.
- Only install on clean, smooth, undamaged surfaces suitable for suction cups.
- Do not use if either suction cup cannot achieve a firm and secure seal.
- Do not leave the roller attached to the vehicle after use.
- This product is a loading aid only and must not be used to secure a kayak during transport.
- Always secure the kayak properly to the roof rack with suitable tie-down straps before driving.
Please Note
- Compatibility depends on vehicle shape, glass curvature, and available mounting surface.
